The cockpit is the centre of the yacht
Seating around the cockpit table, a wetbar and the aft sunbed keep much of the day outside. It is a different arrangement from an enclosed main-deck saloon with a full flybridge above.
The lower level contains a separate saloon and galley, together with three guest cabins. That gives an overnight party an indoor place to sit without removing the cockpit from the centre of the experience. The original model specification provides a double master and two twin guest cabins.
Keep an Estérel outing pleasantly simple
A departure from the Mandelieu area can follow the red coast, with time at a sheltered anchorage before the return. For this style of yacht, a light lunch and an afternoon on deck can be more natural than a formal programme with several changes of venue. The covered part of the cockpit matters when the sun is strong, but the whole outdoor area is not shaded in every direction.
Plan who prefers shade and who wants a sunbed. For a late charter, the return passage can be part of the pleasure rather than a deadline reached immediately after the last swim.
An earlier generation with its own proportions
The V56 in this guide is the 17.45-metre model described in the archived Princess brochure. Its oval hull ports and sports roof belong to that design. A more recent V55 or a Princess 56 flybridge should not be substituted in a comparison simply because the names are close.
For an established yacht, the current condition of the cockpit upholstery, bathroom fittings and cabin furnishings will shape the experience. A well-presented older sports model can be an attractive choice for a small party. Compare the offered interior and crew service alongside the model's basic layout.
Charter questions
How many guest cabins does the V56 have?
The original specification lists three guest cabins with six berths. This describes accommodation, not a licensed day-passenger limit.
How does it differ from a V62-S?
The V62-S is larger and has an enclosed main-deck saloon. The V56 keeps more of the social experience in a covered outdoor cockpit, with its saloon below.
